#14. A short lesson in cell phone etiquette (Part I).

Shoulders hunched, face down, arms bent, hands centered. The religious observance of instant contact and response is inescapable.  Still, rules must be set.

Any time a gentleman is in an intimate setting, their phone should be obsolete.  Whether with a friend, parent, girlfriend or client, one should never text, BBM, answer a call, or send an email, while holding a conversation.  It is the true form of a mental middle finger.  Finalize all exterior conversations before said rendezvous.  Put the phone on vibrate and ignore it.  There is rarely a text that is worthy of being rude.

Also, no more cell phones on the table.  It shouts “Fuck you, you’re kind of important” to the other person.
